IvyCrest Marks Constitution Day with Official Constitution Week Proclamation from Mayor Fred Jung

The Sons of the American Revolution started off the assembly with a Presentation of Colors commemorating the 238th anniversary of the United States Constitution.

On Wednesday, IvyCrest had the privilege of hosting distinguished guests in celebration of Constitution Day. In partnership with the local chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), our students gathered for an engaging presentation on the significance of the holiday and the enduring importance of the U.S. Constitution.

The program began with the SAR’s Presentation of Colors, a military tradition that honors important events and anniversaries. This ceremony marked the 238th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. During the assembly, the DAR was also recognized by Zechariah Jauregi, District Representative from the office of California State Senator Tony Strickland.

Students then enjoyed an educational presentation from the DAR, which highlighted the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and the Bill of Rights. To support their understanding, students were given simplified excerpts of the U.S. Constitution, making its principles more accessible. The event concluded with an official proclamation of Constitution Week, delivered by Fullerton City Mayor Fred Jung, who generously shared his time with our students.

IvyCrest Montessori extends its heartfelt gratitude to all community partners who made this event possible. We hope our students left with a deeper appreciation for the nation’s founding principles, the Constitution as the supreme law of the land, and the vision of the Founding Fathers.
